Anthropic is spending $100m to train 10,000 engineers on its own stack
$10,000per engineer, if all 10,000 are trained
Anthropic committed $100 million to the Claude Frontier Academy, which it says will train 10,000 engineers and address an enterprise AI talent gap. That works out at about $10,000 a head. The spending is not philanthropy in any useful sense: engineers trained on Claude build on Claude, and the bottleneck a vendor funds is usually the one standing between it and a contract. It lands the same month the company's prospectus showed $518 billion of infrastructure commitments, most of which it has to pay for whether or not anybody uses the capacity.
