Gimlet Labs raised $300m at a $3bn valuation for chip agnostic inference
$3bnvaluation, six months after an $80m round
The Series B was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Arm and M12, Microsoft's venture fund, as new backers. It takes the company's total raised to $392m, six months after an $80m round. Gimlet builds software that routes and optimises inference across different accelerators instead of binding a workload to one vendor's chips. Arm putting money into a layer whose purpose is to make silicon interchangeable is the part worth noting.
