OpenAI opened a $500 a month tier called Pro 500, with about twenty-five times the usage allowance of Plus. Pro 200 reopened to new subscribers at a lower allowance. The tier carries Astra Ultrafast, which is not a new model but the same Astra run faster: up to eight times the token rate in Codex, six times in the API, around 300 tokens a second. It costs six times the standard rate. Speed has always been a side effect of picking a model. This is the first time a large lab has sold it on its own.
