Universal Music Group and Sony Music filed a second suit against Suno in the US District Court in Massachusetts, a 45 page complaint naming 60,202 recordings. The argument is not that v6 was trained on their catalogue directly but that it was trained on the outputs of Suno's earlier models, which were, making it in their phrase the fruit of the same poisoned tree. Warner Music, BMG and Believe licensed content for v6; Universal and Sony did not. The filing follows a judge refusing to let them add the claim to the original case, which is more than two years old.
